Community guidelines
Alama Wardrobe is a place to organise your wardrobe, build outfits, and share and discover looks and virtual try-ons. These guidelines explain what we expect from everyone who shares content, what isn’t allowed, and how to report or block anything that breaks the spirit of the community.
By using Alama you agree to follow these guidelines. They sit alongside our Terms of use and Privacy policy.
What Alama is for
Alama is a community for people who love clothes. Share the outfits you’re proud of, discover what others are wearing, and use virtual try-on to imagine a look on yourself.
Be respectful. Treat other members the way you’d want to be treated, assume good intent, and remember there’s a real person behind every profile and every look.
What’s not allowed
To keep Alama safe and welcoming, the following content is not permitted anywhere you can share — including looks, profiles, and virtual try-ons. These mirror the reasons you can choose when reporting content in the app:
- Nudity or sexual content — sexually explicit imagery, or content that sexualises anyone.
- Abuse or hateful content — harassment, bullying, threats, or content that attacks or demeans people based on who they are.
- Spam or scams — repetitive, misleading, or deceptive content, and anything designed to defraud other members.
- Counterfeit or IP infringement — counterfeit goods, or content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property or other rights.
- Child safety — any content that endangers or exploits minors. We report content that sexually exploits children to the relevant authorities.
- Anything else that breaks the spirit of the community — even if it doesn’t fit a category above, content that’s harmful, illegal, or clearly against the intent of these guidelines isn’t allowed.
How moderation works
- You can report any look, virtual try-on, or profile that you think breaks these guidelines, and you can block any member so you no longer see their content and they no longer see yours.
- Our team reviews reports and removes content that breaches these guidelines. Where a look is removed, we let the owner know.
- Content that receives enough reports is automatically hidden pending review, so potentially harmful content comes down quickly while our team takes a closer look.
Removing content or acting on a report is at our discretion, guided by these guidelines and our Terms of use.
How to report or block
Everything you need is built into the app:
- To report a look or profile, open the … menu on the look or profile, choose Report, pick the reason that best fits, and add any details. You’ll see a confirmation once it’s sent.
- To block someone, open the … menu on their look or profile and choose Block. Their content disappears from your feed straight away, and you can unblock them at any time from Settings → Blocked users.
Appeals and getting help
If you believe we’ve made a mistake — for example, your content was removed and you think it shouldn’t have been — or you need help with a report, a block, or anything about safety on Alama, email us at hello@alama.co.uk and we’ll look into it.
We may update these guidelines from time to time as the community grows. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
