Looking for a Whering alternative?

Whering is a free digital wardrobe planner. People go looking for an alternative when they want three things it doesn't do: see clothes on themselves, get a whole wardrobe in without an afternoon of photos, and sell what they don't wear from the same app. Alama does all three, with no ads. Here is what you get, what changes, and how to bring your wardrobe over.

We make Alama. Every Whering fact below comes from its public store listing and announcements as of the date above.

Moving your wardrobe over

The thing that keeps people on a wardrobe app is the time they spent photographing everything, one item at a time. There is no direct import from Whering, and you don't need one.

  1. 1. Take a few wide photos. Mirror selfies, outfit shots, or clothes laid out flat. One photo can hold a whole outfit's worth of pieces.
  2. 2. Let the import find each piece. Alama detects every garment in the photos, crops them, and shows you a grid to keep or drop. Nothing is added until you've looked at it, and it tells you how many free slots you have left before you start.
  3. 3. Try it on, then list what you don't wear. See outfits on a photo of you, and put anything you've stopped wearing on the built-in UK marketplace in a few taps.

Why Whering users switch

  • See it on you first Outfits and pre-loved finds rendered on your own photo — not a mannequin, not an avatar.
  • A full wardrobe in minutes One mirror selfie adds a whole outfit. No more one photo per item.
  • Sell from the same app List, ship and get paid from the wardrobe that already knows what you own — with no ads, ever.

Whering may still be enough if all you want is a free planner with a calendar, and you don't need try-on, bulk import or in-app selling.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Whering alternative with virtual try-on?
Yes. Alama renders outfits and marketplace pieces on a photo of you — your own photo, not an avatar. As of 14 October 2026, Whering has no virtual try-on; it named the feature as a plan when it announced funding in July 2026, and nothing has shipped.
Which Whering alternative lets me sell my clothes in the UK?
Alama. It has a built-in UK peer-to-peer marketplace: list an item straight from your digital wardrobe, with escrow payments, tracked shipping labels and a returns process, with no seller fee — you keep 100% of the price, and the buyer pays 5% + £0.70 on the item. Whering points sellers to partner platforms such as eBay.
Can I import my Whering wardrobe into Alama?
There is no direct import, and you don't need to redo one photo per item. Alama's camera-roll import finds every garment in a mirror selfie, an outfit shot or a flat lay, crops each one and shows you a grid to keep or drop before anything is saved. It also tells you how many free slots you have left before you start, so nothing is wasted.
Is Whering free forever? Does Alama have ads?
As of 14 October 2026, Whering is free and venture-funded, with small optional in-app extras and no paid tier or ads announced. Alama has been funded by subscriptions and credits from the start: a free tier of 100 items, 25 outfits and 3 collections, optional Organiser and Style Pass plans, and no ads on any tier.
What does Alama not do that Whering does?
Whering's free tier has no item limit and it has a planner with a calendar and packing lists. Alama's free tier covers 100 items, and its wear tracking and wardrobe insights don't yet include a calendar view — that is on the way. If a calendar is the centre of how you use a wardrobe app, weigh that against try-on, import and selling.
Is Alama free?
Yes: 100 wardrobe items, 25 outfits and 3 collections free, with welcome credits to try AI try-on on your own photo. Organiser adds unlimited storage; Style Pass adds unlimited AI. There are no ads on any tier.
