Connect an AI assistant
Alama can be a connector for the AI assistant you already use. Once you sign in and allow it, the assistant can read your wardrobe and answer questions like “what should I wear tonight?” from the clothes you actually own. It is read-only until you say otherwise: turn on “Allow assistants to change my wardrobe” under Profile → Connected assistants and an assistant can also save outfits for you. Nothing an assistant does can delete anything. For the longer story, read Ask Claude or ChatGPT what to wear from your own wardrobe.
What an assistant can do
-
List my wardrobe
Your items by category, colour, formality or warmth, with favourites and a search word. Up to 80 at a time.
-
Look at one item
Everything you recorded about a single piece, with a link to its cleaned-up photo that expires within an hour.
-
Suggest an outfit
An outfit from what you own for an occasion, the weather or a date, with a one-line reason. You can insist on an item it must include.
-
What my wardrobe is missing
The pieces that would unlock the most outfits, counted from what you have.
-
Save an outfit
Keeps an outfit it suggested in your wardrobe, under the same saved-outfit limit as the app. Only once you have turned on “Allow assistants to change my wardrobe” in the app; it never deletes anything.
Free accounts get 10 outfit suggestions a day through an assistant; Organiser and Style Pass make them unlimited. The other tools have no daily cap.
Connect in Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors. If Alama is in the directory, choose it and skip to step 3.
-
Otherwise choose Add custom connector, name it
Alama Wardrobe and paste
https://api.alama.co.uk/mcp. Leave the OAuth fields empty. - Press Connect. A page on alama.co.uk opens: sign in with the account you use in the app (Apple, Google, or your email) and press Allow.
- Back in Claude, turn the connector on in the chat's tools menu and ask away.
Connect in ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps (called Connectors on some plans). If Alama is listed, choose it and skip to step 3.
-
Otherwise turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings,
choose Create, name it Alama Wardrobe, paste
https://api.alama.co.uk/mcpas the server URL and pick OAuth as the authentication. - Press Connect, sign in on the alama.co.uk page with the account you use in the app, and press Allow.
- Mention Alama in a chat, or pick it from the tools menu, and ask.
Connect in Perplexity
Perplexity takes Alama as a plugin, which works on the Free plan as well as Pro and Max. Download the plugin file first: alama-wardrobe-perplexity.zip.
- In Perplexity, open Plugins in the sidebar, press Add custom → Upload plugin or skill, drop the zip in and press Submit.
- On the plugin page, press Connect next to alama-wardrobe. A window opens on alama.co.uk: sign in with the account you use in the app and press Allow. The row shows a tick once connected.
- In a question, type @alama-wardrobe and pick it from the list (or tick it under + → Connectors), then ask. Saving an outfit asks you to reply “yes” first.
On Pro, Max and Enterprise you can also add Alama as a custom connector without the
file: Plugins → Add custom → Connector → Add MCP connector → Remote,
with https://api.alama.co.uk/mcp as the
server URL and OAuth as the authentication.
Connect in Le Chat (Mistral)
Le Chat is now part of Mistral Vibe. Custom connectors are an administrator feature, and on the Free, Pro and Student plans the account owner is the administrator, so a personal account can add one.
- At chat.mistral.ai open Context → Connectors, press Add connector, then Add a custom connector at the top right of the marketplace.
-
Name it Alama Wardrobe, paste
https://api.alama.co.uk/mcpas the server and wait a moment: Authentication fills itself in as OAuth 2.1. Press Add connector. - The alama.co.uk sign-in page opens in the same tab. Sign in with the account you use in the app and press Allow; you land back on the connector's page with its tools listed.
- In a chat, press + → Connectors → Alama Wardrobe so the chat can use it, then ask. Reading is allowed automatically; saving an outfit asks you first, every time or once per chat, as you prefer.
Connect in Gemini
Gemini's Connected apps catalogue is partner-only. Google lets personal accounts add a custom app by URL, but only for adults in the United States, in English, with Keep Activity turned on, and only from the web app; work and school accounts cannot. In the UK and the rest of Europe the Custom apps section is not shown at all (we checked in October 2026), and we will update this page when Google widens it.
- On a computer, open gemini.google.com, then Settings → Connected Apps.
-
Under Custom apps, choose Add a custom app, paste
https://api.alama.co.uk/mcpand press Next. - Sign in on the alama.co.uk page with the account you use in the app and press Allow. Once connected, Alama also works in the Gemini mobile app.
Things to ask
- “What should I wear to a client dinner tomorrow?”
- “It's cold and raining, what have I got for that?”
- “Show me my navy chinos.”
- “Which of my black shoes go with the grey trousers?”
- “What is my wardrobe missing for a smart-casual week?”
What it can see
The names, categories, colours, brands, sizes and tags of your items, your saved outfits, and temporary links to the cleaned-up photo of an item. It never sees the original photos you took, your try-on photos, your email address or your payment details. What you ask, and what Alama answers, goes to the assistant's provider under their terms. Details are in our privacy policy.
Disconnect
In the app, open Profile → Connected assistants and disconnect the assistant. You can also remove Alama from the assistant's own settings. New requests stop at once; a session the assistant already holds expires within an hour.
If sign-in fails
- Use the same sign-in method as in the app. An Apple account from the app is the same account here; a new email address creates nothing and shows an empty wardrobe.
- If you chose the email link, open it on the device where the assistant is running so it can return to the consent page.
- Still stuck? Email hello@alama.co.uk.
